Aurora History
|
The city of Aurora was founded in 1891 by a successful developer name Donald Fletcher. Fletcher had a vision of developing the prairie land east of Denver and connecting it by a trolley line. His plan was a success as the town grew and changed its name to Aurora in 1907. Aurora was officially recognized as a city by the State of Colorado in 1929.

There are also 80 public parks and seven public golf courses throughout the city of Aurora.
